By now, everyone would know that Pantone’s Color of the year 2016 is Rose Quartz & Serenity. And if you don’t… well, now you know! HAHA
Although I’m not usually the type to be in the hype, this is the first time Pantone has announced a blending of two shades rather than just simply one shade.
A foreshadowing of things to come perhaps? Or a continuity of the significant changes that have transgressed in 2015?
It’s a bit embarrassing, but I’ve only become aware of the whole Pantone-Color-of-the-Year, last year. And true enough, I can see that Marsala, or at least some variants of it, like maroon and burgundy, are very present in fashion, and design, and even in my closet! (The fact that my college’s color is maroon is also an attribute hehe!)
When the Pantone Colors of 2016 first hit the news, I was happy to realize that I actually already have those colors in my closet! It sort of made me happy in a kind of giddy way that, “Hey! I got that before the trend started!”, because maybe, just maybe, that meant I had a tiny inkling of the ability to predict trends…? (Maybe Pantone can hire me, I already have ideas on what the color for 2017 may be…. just kidding! HAHA Libreng mangarap po.)
So what are the clothes I have that are Rose Quartz & Serenity (or at least a slight variant of it)? I bet you’re excited to find out! (If not, please pretend to… it’s the New Year naman HAHA)
This blazer is such a favorite of mine because of the elongated cut of the collar, and the lightness of the peach shade that makes it perfect for neutral ensembles!
I love how my hair flowed with the groovy pattern! I also love how the graphic looks like a fusion of Rose Quartz and Serenity! Actually this is one of my top tops (See what I did there? Hehe!) because the soft texture, and how its detailed print made such a simple style look so chic!
PS. This is a rare I-don’t-look-weird candid photo. History has been made by Florence Chee!
*Fun Fact: (although I’m not sure if “FUN” is the right way to describe it…) My cousin and I did this shoot out of the blue, and it was raining lightly, and we didn’t have an umbrella that wouldn’t clash with the colors of the outfit, so we just shot these photos from their porch. #ParaParaan HAHA
